Pink Shirt Day 2024 - Everyday at Hope and Health

Hope and Health will be activating our “Be the Change” anti-bullying programming with it being Pink Shirt Day 2024 tomorrow on February 28th.

We are honoured to have such an incredible group of community coaches committed to creating safe and inspiring spaces for children and youth - everyday- and to maximize our community programming to teach and role model anti-bullying skills that will save lives.

Now - more than ever, we need to take a stand against bullying. Pink Shirt Day is an opportunity to remind everyone the importance of this. But the real action happens on the ground - in the creaks and corners of our lives - sometimes quietly and persistently - sometimes online, sometimes loud and publicly. It all matters. Every Child Matters. Let’s stand together extra strong, make our pledges - and then most importantly - work together as one heart, one mind to put these pledges into action. We must be the change.
— Deana Gill, Hope and Health Co-Founder and CEO

Our dream team community coaches and program participants will be gifted a new pink jersey - which displays the beautiful and important “Stop Bullying” design created by Coast Salish Artist Maynard Johnny Jr.

This new custom designed jersey was created with graphic design support from Identity Graphics in Cowichan, jersey production by Oddball Workshop in Vancouver and with the beautiful sustainable fabric donated by Kendor Textiles in Delta. Fun fact: each jersey contains up to the reuse of 6 water bottles.

Hope and Health will be leading the Anti-bullying programming at xpey’ East Van after-school program as well as at Penelakut Island Elementary School - reaching over 100 children and youth in a day.

We will be sharing the good work in action across social media channels - and the worksheet is shared above - as a resource for all to benefit - to download and print.
